Many Internet sites have been crucial for the development of this piece of software. Maybe some of them are also interesting to other people writing astronomical computer programs. I make hereunder a brief description of some of them:
The MinGW C++ compiler, available at http://www.mingw.org. This has been the C++ compiler used. I have stuck to version 2.95.2, which has been working without a problem both under Windows 95 and Windows 2000.
The wxWindows cross-platform class library, available at http://www.wxwindows.org. The true heart of the application. The quality and flexibility of this library is excellent. It will provide a migration path to alternative platforms (i.e. Linux) if demand arises. The version used has been 2.2.5, and currently 2.2.7 is under analysis.

Paul Schlyter from Stockholm, Sweden site's at http://hotel04.ausys.se/pausch. The best introduction to computation of planetary ephemerides I've ever come across.
NASA's Astronomical Data Center at http://adc.gsfc.nasa.gov. The source for all the stars and deep space objects catalogs used by Encyclopedia Galactica.
The FITSIO website at http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/fitsio. The FITSIO library provides a number of functions to access images stored in the FITS (Flexible Image Transport System) format.

There are many sites in the Internet that offer freeware/shareware astronomical programs and utilities. This is my list:
astronomylinks.com Astronomy and space links, shortcuts, favorites and bookmarks.
Bill Arnett's astronomical software page at SEDS (University of Arizona).
Bill Drennon's astronomical software page at Central Valley Christian School.
Dan Brutton's astronomical software page at Stephen F. Austin State University.
Hugo Valetim's astronomical software page, with excellent reviews of good quality programs.
Edouard Reny's "portal to the stars", with many general astronomical information plus a specific section on astronomical software.
Alan Sawicki's pages on freeware in general, and specifically related to astronomy.
